About Kat
I’m an Art Therapist and Registered Therapeutic Counsellor. I spend as much time as I can playing in the incredible mountains around Nelson, BC - the traditional territories of the Sinixt, the Ktunaxa, and the Syilx peoples.
It is in these mountains, and others around the world, that I have found my people and myself. The outdoors, and the the sports that take me there, have been central to my identity and way of life for as long as I can remember.
This is why I am passionate about helping my clients move through the forced transition injury instills on us.
Injury is so often a time when we find ourselves having to sit and reckon with who we are. Many of us are used to having an outlet to push aside the more uncomfortable feelings – we run, we bike, we climb, we ski. We are used to being in constant motion. Injury can take this away from us, make us sit still. This can feel very foreign and unanchoring.
With Next Turn Therapy, I hope to provide a place to anchor to, new avenues of outlet, and new tools to navigate the rivers of emotions that can come forward during these transitional times.
