What is IFS (Internal Family Systems) Therapy

Take a moment to think, how often do you feel like you are being pulled in two directions by parts of yourself that seem to want two completely different things?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on the concept that the mind is made up of multiple "parts." Each of our parts with has their own unique set of beliefs, emotions, and behaviours. The aim of IFS is to help us identify and understand these different parts of ourselves, with the ultimate goal of achieving greater integration and harmony between them and therefore reducing internal strife and conflict

During an IFS therapy session, I will typically guide the you through a process of accessing and communicating with your different parts. This may involve using visualization techniques, guided meditations, or other exercises to help you connect with their inner world. I will then work with you to help you understand and integrate these different parts, with the goal of creating a more cohesive and functional sense of self.
